Before the Obon holiday, Governor Ohno of Saitama Prefecture called for Obon to spend time with his family and refrain from having dinner with friends and relatives in order to prevent the spread of the new coronavirus.

A state of emergency has been declared in Saitama Prefecture since August 2, but the severe situation continues, with the number of infected people per day exceeding 1,000 every day and the number of seriously ill patients increasing rapidly from the following day.

Before the Obon holiday, when people come and go, Governor Ohno called on the night of the 11th to spend Obon with his family in front of JR Kumagaya Station in Kumagaya City and refrain from having dinner with friends and relatives.

After that, we handed out leaflets calling on people using the station to take measures against infection.

Governor Ohno said, "Last year, I had a bitter feeling that the number of infected people would jump after Obon. If the number of infected people increases at this pace, medical care will be on the verge of collapse, and not only the new corona but also other needs I want you to spend your time at home during the Obon festival because you will not be able to perform any medical treatment.
