As the infection of the new coronavirus spreads, Governor Ohno of Saitama Prefecture visited the facilities for the elderly online to prevent infection.

Saitama Prefecture is strengthening its efforts, such as starting in April with a system to certify facilities with thorough countermeasures as excellent facilities in order to prevent the spread of infection in facilities for the elderly.

On the 10th, Governor Ohno visited a special nursing home for the elderly in Fukaya City, which was certified as an excellent facility, and made sure that only one person could sit at one table when the staff had a meal. We received explanations on infection control measures, such as allowing only one person to enter and making the trash can lid open by pedaling.

At this facility, a cluster occurred in a care house in the same building last November, and we have taken measures by making use of that experience.

Governor Ohno encouraged the staff by saying, "Everyone's experience and enthusiasm are a major force in infection control. We would like to build a better system to overcome the fifth wave."

Akira Kobe, director of the special elderly nursing home Akatsuki, said, "I realized that it is very important to prevent basic infections due to clusters. I will continue to concentrate on what I should do and take measures against infections such as goggles, masks, and hand sanitizers. I want to be thorough. "
