On Monday, August 9, the court ruled not to satisfy the demand of Britney Spears' lawyer Matthew Rosengart to postpone the hearing on the removal of the singer's father, James Spears, from her custody.

The court hearing is scheduled for September 29, Rosengart asked to hold it on August 23 or the next few days after.

By decision of Judge Brenda Penny, the date of the hearing remained unchanged, but Britney Spears and her attorney can again request an earlier hearing.

Rosengart filed a motion to postpone the hearing on Thursday, August 5.

“While the two-month wait for a hearing on this application may seem insignificant in 13 years, Ms. Spears should not be forced to continue to relive this trauma, lose sleep and suffer.

Every day matters, ”he said in the document.

A spokeswoman for Britney Spears expresses concerns about how the singer's father is managing her fortune.

Rosengart accuses James Spears of embezzlement and personal enrichment.

So, for the performance of his duties, he receives $ 16 thousand a month (while spending $ 14 thousand on the maintenance of his daughter) and, in addition, $ 2 thousand for office expenses.

The petition also states that in 2019, James Spears paid Tri Star Sports and Entertainment, which previously worked with Britney Spears, $ 500,000, more than double the estimated amount - but by that time the singer was no longer performing.

“Guardianship should be a last resort for the benefit of the person under guardianship, and not a mechanism that serves as a tool for the enrichment of third parties,” said Rosengart.

The lawyer also noted that, based on the report of Forbes magazine, the volume of the singer's net assets is too small - especially considering that she has recorded four albums and has been actively touring since the establishment of guardianship in 2008.

At the same time, it is argued that James Spears did not allow his daughter to rest in Hawaii at her own expense.

According to Rosengart, this example illustrates the need to suspend guardianship and release Spears from his duties in the near future.

The guardian's representatives deny any wrongdoing with the groans of their client.

Spears previously stated that "the only motive was his unconditional love for his daughter and a fierce desire to protect her from those who try to use her to their advantage."

For the removal of James Spears spoke out and the temporary guardian of the singer Jodie Montgomery.

Her lawyer, Laurianne Wright, said that the guardianship had a detrimental effect on the singer's mental health.

“The fact that her guardian is still not a neutral professional confidant, but her father, Jamie Spears, seriously affects Ms Spears' mental health ... her as a father and build a healthy and supportive father-daughter relationship with her, ”Wright explained to Variety.

According to James Spears, in early July, Jodie Montgomery came to him because of Britney Spears' mental health problems.

Montgomery allegedly complained that the singer did not take medication and did not follow the recommendations of doctors.

It follows from Spears' statement that the temporary guardian offered to send the artist for compulsory treatment.

However, in the case file, Montgomery's lawyers stated otherwise.

At the moment, James Spears is in charge of Britney Spears' property.

Jody Montgomery is responsible for the personal well-being of the singer and decides on issues related to her health.

After Monday's hearing, Britney Spears made two Instagram posts.

One of them is a short video in which a fan of the singer shows a flag with the words #Free Britney.

In the signature, the artist speculated that the fans recommended that she choose materials for posts more carefully (she recently published photos and videos topless).

However, Spears herself believes that she was overly circumspect.

She also posted a short cooking video and said that she plans to pay less attention to social networks.

“In the system, within which I felt completely hopeless for so long, I at least have a platform to share my thoughts! A quote from Selena Gomez is best suited here: “The world can be cruel. I know that. You know that. Kill them with kindness. " Unfortunately, lately, the media have been quite violent and have told terrible and dastardly lies about me, so from now on I will be doing less publications, ”wrote Britney.
