According to the reporter's understanding, the swimming pool was built by a local 50-year-old veteran named Yang Jingyi at his own expense, and it is free for villagers to use.
The swimming pool is also equipped with a series of safety equipment such as swimming laps and swimsuits to ensure the safety of children.
Many local villagers said that with this rural swimming pool, children can enjoy the coolness while enjoying more safety.
Yang Jingyi told reporters that Xingqiao Village is close to Xiaoshui River, and there are many ponds, reservoirs, and river dams in the territory.
Many left-behind children in the village like to go to the river to play in the water every summer. Due to lack of parental care, drowning is prone to occur.
Whenever he heard the news of a child drowning, he always felt very uncomfortable.

During the summer vacation, the weather is relatively hot. Children like to go to the river to play in the water. Many adults work outside and cannot control them. There is a big safety hazard.
I want to do a little bit of my own meager efforts to build this swimming pool, provide (site) for free, and teach them a skill and master swimming skills.
[Explanation] In order to allow the left-behind children in the village to have a safe and happy swimming place, in April this year, Yang Jingyi told his family about the idea of building a swimming pool and got the support of the whole family.
So they found a piece of land in their orchard, and at their own expense more than 300,000 yuan, they built an open-air swimming pool in a decent way.
At the same time, Yang Jingyi also used his swimming skills that he once trained in the coastal defense forces to become a swimming coach for the left-behind children in the village for free to promote the knowledge of "drowning prevention".
