[Concurrent] Zhai Yongbin, an anti-epidemic volunteer

My name is Zhai Yongbin and I am from Wuhan, Hubei. This time I visited Zhangjiajie with my wife, and then I stayed here.

[Explanation] Zhai Yongbin, who came to Zhangjiajie to play on July 27, originally planned to return to Wuhan on August 1, had to stay in Zhangjiajie because of a sudden new crown pneumonia epidemic.

Although the epidemic disrupted his travel plan with his wife, the warm care and what he saw during his stay in Zhangjiajie made him resolutely decided to join the fight against the epidemic.

I signed up for volunteers at the front desk of the (hotel) on August 4, filled out the application, and then the staff of the (Zhangjiajie) Cultural Tourism Bureau said to wait for the notice.

When I called at night, one of their staff members was uncomfortable because of tonsil inflammation, and then asked me to take off their shift from 8 to 1 o'clock on the 5th to assist them with some cooperative work.

[Explanation] Zhai Yongbin told a reporter from China News Agency that previously, in order to help them leave Zhang for their return journey, volunteers in Zhangjiajie did a lot of work and ran before and after the stranded tourists under the big sun.

Although they all stayed in Zhangjiajie due to the need for epidemic prevention, the local area gave priority to providing tourists with free living needs during their stay, and provided various protection measures such as personalized services for tourists with basic diseases, the elderly, children and other special groups at any time. Our peace of mind and confidence in defeating the epidemic.

Since August 5, Zhai Yongbin has been a volunteer in the hotel where he settled, responsible for registering the needs of residents, purchasing medicines and distributing anti-epidemic supplies.

He said that during the outbreak of the epidemic in Hubei in 2020, due to leaving Wuhan early to return to the countryside for the New Year, he regretted not being a volunteer. This time in Zhangjiajie, he was fortunate to be one of the volunteers in the fight against the epidemic and could do something to fight the epidemic.

Because my hometown is in the countryside, I say that every year during the Spring Festival, I go back to my hometown to celebrate the New Year.

It was a pity that I did not volunteer (for myself) at that time.

(Now) I happened to encounter this epidemic in Zhangjiajie, and I also saw volunteers here, providing services for our stranded passengers 24 hours a day.

In addition, the local government also connects us together and provides free accommodation. They are also very concerned about us. I want to cooperate with them and do a little bit of service work.

[Commentary] Zhai Yongbin said that he will come again in Zhangjiajie, not only because there are many beautiful and unique scenery here that have not had time to appreciate, but also because of the various touches he has gained during the epidemic.

When the epidemic is overcome, he will bring his family to travel through the beautiful scenery of Zhangjiajie.
