"At 00:00 Moscow time on August 9, 176 forest fires were operating on the territory of Russia on an area covered by fire, 1 793 210 hectares," the department said.
It is noted that the emergency regime has been introduced in ten regions of the country.
Earlier, a regional emergency regime was introduced in Yakutia due to wildfires.
