The support team from the police nationwide, who guarded the competition venue at the Tokyo Olympics, completed their duties, and the departure ceremony was held at the Tokyo Metropolitan Police Department on the 9th.

Approximately 60 security officers dispatched from 31 prefectures nationwide attended the departure ceremony on the 9th.

First, on behalf of the support team, MTF Commander Tatsuhiko Hanaki of the Aichi Prefectural Police Headquarters reported that he would be released from his mission and will leave Tokyo.

Next, Tokyo Metropolitan Police Department Chief of Police, Minoru Saito, said, "While the pros and cons were divided, the event was held without spectators, but they responded appropriately. It was everyone who was able to complete the security of the historic Reiwa festival. Thanks, "he said and handed him a letter of appreciation.

At the Tokyo Olympics, the support team was responsible for guarding competition venues in Tokyo, guarding VIPs, and cracking down on traffic violations around the venue.

On the other hand, it was confirmed that 49 people, mainly the Hyogo Prefectural Police Headquarters, were infected with the new coronavirus, and more than 500 police officers suspected of contact were also waiting at the facility.

The support team will leave Tokyo on the 9th and will be dispatched again on the 24th of this month when the Paralympics will begin, and the Metropolitan Police Department will request thorough infection control measures.
