Chinanews, August 9th, on the 8th, the 12-episode ancient fantasy animation series "Wu Chengen's Demon Record" released a concept film.

The script is adapted from the novel "Wu Chengen Catch a Monster".

According to the film's introduction, the story originated from a brain hole: It is said that Shi Naian, in order to write Wu Song Fighting the Tiger, personally climbed the tree to see how the tiger acted.

Then Wu Chengen wrote a whole story about catching monsters. Has he ever caught a monster by himself?

Based on this insight, Ma Boyong and Haitang worked together to complete the original novel "Wu Chengen's Catch the Monster" and adapted it into the animation "Wu Chengen's Seizing the Monster".

Stills

The concept film lasted nearly 5 minutes. First of all, the Bull Demon King described a monster-catcher he was most afraid of, killing scorpion spirits, spider spirits, and centipedes.

When Golden Horn shouted the classic line "I call you, do you dare to agree?", the soul of Monkey King in Wu Chengen's body awakened and pulled out the golden hoop to level the mountains and rivers.

When talking about the fright of the little demons, Wu Chengen kicked the door of the Bull Demon King from the outside...The final concept film also included an easter egg. It turned out that all this is just the author Wu Chengen's fantasy of his own power in the novel.

The planning team fictionalizes a whole imaginative fantasy world, from the perspective of Wu Chengen, the original author of "Journey to the West", and flexibly combines the modern young and personalized wave of thought with traditional Chinese IP, and adapts it from a new perspective. Return the perspective from the strong attributes of gods and monsters in "Journey to the West" to reality.

It is reported that "Wu Chengen's Demon Recording" chooses to be presented in the form of extremely difficult two-dimensional animation, showing the changes of each frame by hand.
