Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed Al Qasimi, Chairman of the Sharjah Media Council, announced the launch of the 10th edition of the International Government Communication Forum on September 26 at the Expo Center Sharjah, under the slogan “Lessons of the Past .. Aspirations for the Future”, with the participation of senior government officials and a group of experts and influencers in Communication sector at the local, regional and international levels.

In its two-day session, the forum deals with historical experiences in government communication, the most prominent past stations up to the present and the accompanying transformations, and looks forward, 10 years after its convening, to the future of government communication regionally and globally, and discusses the reality of the practice of government communication in terms of mechanisms and tools. Al Qasimi stressed that the 10th session of the forum aims to enhance the effectiveness of government communication teams to contribute to facing any challenges posed by global changes in the present and the future, explaining that “the choice of the forum’s logo comes as an affirmation of the gains of 10 years of holding the forum, during which we succeeded in establishing the rules and principles of communication practice. We are now facing a new stage in which we look forward to anticipating the future of government communication so that we can take a new step in the name of Sharjah and the UAE in the future of government communication globally.”

Al Qasimi said, “The specificity of this session comes from the fact that it came after a global crisis that emphasized the importance of governments’ ability to communicate effectively and effectively with the public. Several focal points on the impact of various challenges on the government communication sectors in official institutions, semi-governmental institutions, and international community organizations, and how they will reshape the future of government communication by benefiting from the experience, which puts government communication teams and specialists in charge of keeping pace with transformations based on forward-looking plans based on the current reality and experiences. During the dialogue sessions, workshops and inspiring speeches, the forum focuses on seven main themes: reviewing the historical experience of government communication, especially in times of crisis, examining reality data and building visions for the future, developing mechanisms for the readiness of the transformation imposed by changes as a necessity for creating the future and achieving the aspirations of societies, and analyzing the use of government communication on The level of the world with crises and come up with scientific results that establish effective communication mechanisms, in addition to discussing the content industry on social platforms and the extent to which the power of traditional media remains in an effective way within the mass communication media.
