It has been 76 years since the atomic bomb was dropped on Nagasaki in 9 days.

As the influence of the new coronavirus makes it difficult to convey the memories of the A-bomb survivors, Nagasaki prayed to the victims on the day of the atomic bombing and said, "Make Nagasaki the last A-bombed area" toward the realization of a world free of nuclear weapons. I will send an appeal.

The Peace Memorial Ceremony on the day of the atomic bombing of Nagasaki was temporarily concerned about the effects of the typhoon, but on the 9th, it was held at the Peace Park in Nagasaki City from 10:45 am as scheduled. Representatives from about 60 countries will attend.

The scale of the ceremony has been reduced for the second consecutive year due to infection control measures, and the number of attendees is expected to be about 500, which is 10% of the average year.

The ceremony will include a list of 189,163 A-bomb survivors with the names of 3202 people, including the survivors who died in the past year.

And at 11:02 am when the atomic bomb burst, I offer a silent prayer.

In January, the Treaty on the Prohibition of Nuclear Weapons, which bans the development, manufacture, and use of nuclear weapons, came into effect, but nuclear-weapon states and countries under the nuclear umbrella, such as Japan, have not participated.

At the ceremony, Mayor Tagami of Nagasaki City will call on the Government of Japan to participate in the Treaty on the Prohibition of Nuclear Weapons and take leadership toward the realization of a world free of nuclear weapons.

In addition, in response to the government's recognition of the plaintiff as a survivor without appeal over the so-called "black rain" trial in Hiroshima, Nagasaki continues the trial seeking recognition as a survivor. There is an active movement to work on the government to rescue people called ".

After the ceremony, the A-bomb survivor group in Nagasaki will meet with Prime Minister Suga and request the relief of "experienced survivors".

Due to the spread of the infection, the number of school travelers and foreigners visiting Nagasaki has decreased, making it difficult for A-bomb survivors to convey their tragic experiences. From the 10th, the A-bomb Museum will be temporarily closed. Is getting harder.

For that reason, the A-bombed area, Nagasaki, prayed to the victims on the day of the atomic bombing on the 9th, and appealed that "Nagasaki should be the last A-bombed area" with the meaning that no one should ever experience the atomic bombing again. We will send it domestically and internationally.
