By the end of July, it was found that about 8,000 doses of the new coronavirus vaccine had been discarded due to temperature control mistakes and cancellations immediately before.

Since June, occupational vaccinations have started at companies and universities that can inoculate about 1,000 people, and by August 1st, a total of more than 7.72 million vaccinations have been given at approximately 2,300 venues.

The Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare announced on its website the names of companies that discarded vaccines together with their containers for the first time, and revealed that a total of 8090 doses had been discarded at 48 venues by the end of July.

Of these, 7210 doses could not be properly temperature-controlled due to problems with the freezer and power connection mistakes.

In addition, although the vaccine was thawed, the reservation was canceled immediately before, and the number of vaccines prepared was incorrect, so a total of 810 doses could not be used for inoculation within the deadline.

At these venues, measures were taken to prevent recurrence, such as fixing the power supply connection with tape and securing inoculation recipients in place of those who canceled.

The Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare says, "I would like you to proceed with inoculation by referring to the published cases so as not to discard valuable vaccines."
