  Henan Province recently encountered extremely heavy rainfall, which caused serious damage to the transportation infrastructure of the province.

At a press conference held by the Information Office of the Henan Provincial Government on the afternoon of the 7th, the official report stated that 2639 expressways in Henan Province were destroyed by water due to heavy rainfall.

  On the 8th, the Henan Provincial Department of Transportation announced at the provincial transportation half-year work meeting and post-disaster reconstruction mobilization meeting that as of now, the highway network in Henan province is generally smooth and orderly.

According to reports, in order to ensure the safety and smooth flow of the expressway network, Henan province’s expressways have invested a total of 2,297 emergency rescue teams, 56798 rescuers, 22,481 machinery, 61,880 cubic meters of sand and gravel, and 399 road rescues.

  In order to ensure the smooth passage of emergency and disaster relief transportation vehicles, Henan province’s expressways have set up 812 special passages, and designated personnel are on duty 24 hours a day. The “Different Priority” policy effectively guarantees the efficient transportation of disaster relief emergency supplies, rescue equipment and personnel.

  According to statistics, as of August 7, Henan province’s expressways had reduced or exempted 22,355,500 tolls for 269,100 emergency rescue vehicles.

  The Department of Transportation of Henan Province stated that in the next step, the province's expressways will continue to do a good job in guaranteeing emergency and disaster relief transportation vehicles to ensure that emergency and disaster relief transportation vehicles are given priority and convenient and free of charge.
