Sarah Mardini is a young Syrian who came to take refuge in Greece to escape the war in her country.

Arrived in 2015, she joined an association for the rescue of migrants at sea. The young woman is today indicted by the Greek authorities who accuse her of being part of a criminal network: “We were put in prison because we decided to save lives when the governments of Europe and the world failed to do so.

She is awaiting trial and risks fifteen years in prison.

Sarah Mardini recounts her journey to arrive in Greece in 2015 and her struggle to prove her innocence and that of the 150 other people in the same case.
