The Lebanese Hezbollah movement announced on Friday August 6 that it had fired dozens of rockets at territories in the disputed region of the Golan Heights, occupied by Israel since 1967, in response to Israeli airstrikes on southern Lebanon.

"In response to the Israeli air raids, the Islamic Resistance shelled an area near the positions of the Israeli occupation forces in the area of ​​the Shebaa farms," ​​the Lebanese name for this area, the pro-Iranian party said in a statement.

For its part, the Israeli army said on Friday carrying out strikes on Lebanon in response to rocket fire from the neighboring country.

"The Israeli army is hitting the launching sources (rockets) in Lebanon," a military statement said shortly after the more than 10 projectiles were launched at the Hebrew state, most of which were intercepted according to Israeli forces.
