Recently, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology disclosed that since the second quarter, complaints about open-screen pop-up messages have dropped by 50% from the previous quarter, and the discovery rate of "cannot be closed" on Baidu APP's close button has dropped to 1%.

However, small and medium apps and computer software are still one of the hardest hit areas.

　　Mainstream APP pop-up problem alleviated

　　The pop-up messages that always bubbling and jumping are like "psoriasis" on the Internet, and have already penetrated into every corner of the Internet world.

Some software not only makes the close button inconspicuous, but if you accidentally click the wrong close button, the pop-up window will pop up more and more.

　　Faced with this annoying problem, the governance of relevant departments has begun to show results.

According to the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, after continuous governance, the discovery rate of the top 100 apps that misled users to click to jump to third-party pages since the second quarter has dropped from 90% to 12%.

　　This rectification has been around for a long time.

Three years ago, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology issued the "Notice on Carrying out Special Rectification Work for APP Infringing User Rights and Interests", and continued to implement strong governance on this.

　　In order to bring the system, integrity and synergy of industry management to a higher level, in April this year, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology and other four departments announced the "Interim Provisions on the Management of Personal Information Protection of Mobile Internet Applications (Draft for Comment)", which further clearly stated that "informed Agree with a series of principles such as "the least necessary".

And it is expected that through the top-level design, the "big tree" of APP will continue to flourish.

　　Low barriers to listing increase management difficulty

In real life, pop-ups that suddenly appear are not only "alive", some vulgar content and pictures will also flash along with the pop-ups.

　　Why is the much-dismissed pop-up problem "unhealed for a long time"?

The reporter noticed that this is not unrelated to the large number of APP scales.

On July 16, Zhao Zhiguo, a spokesperson for the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, disclosed that as of May this year, the number of apps nationwide had reached 3.02 million.

　　This means that although the APPs of large and medium-sized enterprises are generally more standardized, there are still "bad guys" hiding in the APPs developed by a large number of small enterprises and even individuals.

　　The reporter found that the low threshold for application development and launch may be one of the reasons why the chaos in the APP field has been difficult to eradicate for many years.

Search for "APP listing" on Baidu, and a large number of companies are providing related services.

According to the website of a "Jingshang Yihe Technology Company", the cost of developing and packaging APP on its behalf varies from 100 yuan/year to 2,600 yuan/year depending on the number of functions.

A company called "One APP Publishing Service" stated that its ordinary APP listing service charges 600 yuan, and it only costs 1,800 yuan for a package to be successfully put on the shelf.

Shell Ant Technology clearly stated that the fee will be refunded for unsuccessful listings. Qiluo Technology can provide one-on-one answers on behalf of the shelves, while Youyi advertises that it can shorten the generation time by 10 to 30 days...

　　Relevant departments also paid attention to related issues, and at the technical level, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology used AI, big data and other new technical means to promote the construction of a national APP technology testing platform.

At present, the platform has the ability to detect 150,000 apps per month, and it is expected to cover about 1.8 million apps by the end of the year.

　　In the first half of the year, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology also organized six batches of centralized random tests, inspected 760,000 apps, notified 748 illegal apps, and refused to rectify apps on 245 apps, which eliminated some long-standing problems of apps.

　　Computer software pop-ups are hardest hit

　　After the APP pop-up behavior has greatly converged, the computer-side pop-up window still "dominates the screen."

Recently, the Jiangsu Provincial Consumer Protection Committee issued the "PC Application Software Network Popup Investigation Report". The report showed that the network popups of some computer software are difficult to close with one click. Some content is also suspected of fraud, vulgarity, etc., so that the majority of "senior Internet users" have been Feel distressed.

　　A questionnaire survey conducted by the Jiangsu Provincial Consumer Protection Committee showed that 78% of consumers have encountered network pop-ups. The problem of network pop-ups for installed tool software is prominent, followed by audio-visual and system tool software.

This survey shows that 11 of the 30 software have problems with network pop-ups, accounting for 37% of the total survey.

　　Among the 11 softwares with network pop-up problems, the pop-ups of 360 Safe Browser, Baofengyingyin and Kuwo Music are more frequent.

Among them, the 360 ​​security browser pops up 9 times within 15 minutes, Baofeng Yingyin pops up 6 times within 15 minutes, and Kuwo Music is searched and played once.

　　Not only that, there are also illegal content in online pop-ups, involving false propaganda, pornography and vulgarity.

The investigation revealed that the pop-up windows of four software including Baofengyingyin, 360 Safe Browser, 360 Safeguard, and Bird Wallpaper are suspected of disseminating vulgar information, as well as the use of suggestive images or language to induce netizens to click and promote unknown websites. .

　　The investigation also found that the pop-up windows of 4 softwares including Tencent Video, 2345 Picture Viewer, iQiyi, and Master Lu could not be "closed with one click", and there was no close function button.

　　In this regard, relevant departments stated that industry supervision should be strengthened, and a "standard wall" should be established for network pop-ups; industry standards should be formulated to put "system locks" on network pop-ups; industry self-discipline should be improved, and "autonomous valves" should be opened for network pop-ups. ; Increase publicity and education and install "warning lights" for network pop-ups.
