Golden Residence

Some of them are called angels of mercy, and some call them soldiers of humanity.. The achievements of the medical staff speak for themselves, they are the most important pillars of the first response lines to the COVID-19 pandemic, and the leadership honor estimated by granting doctors the right and privilege of golden residency reflects the size of appreciation owed for their achievements.

The sacrifices of the medical staff are invaluable, which was demonstrated by the return of some first line of defense responders to field work and their sacrifice of their safety and health despite their repeated infection with the virus, as well as the continuous pressures of work and their continuous sacrifices, in their comfort and time with their families and their health and sometimes their lives.

Most of us watched the video of the father, the doctor, in a sister country, whose eyes cried while he prevented his child from embracing him and we cried with him, and we heard about the fatigue that some medical staff reached as a result of the need for continuous work.

This deserved honor prompts us to suggest that the rest of the medical sectors and the initial response teams be included in this deserved appreciation, through a system that is measured by their exceptional contributions, risk of injury, or other medical data, working hours or risks.

It also prompts us to stress the importance that the human resources and budgets concerned authorities consider the disbursement and increase of hazard allowances, shifts and overtime allowances, in proportion to the exceptional medical risks during the pandemic, and reassess the value of the medical insurance due to ensure the future of their families.

Despite the few deaths we have, some of them were among the heroes of the front lines in the battle of humanity against this epidemic. The role of the administrative authorities should not be limited to discounting, promotion, termination of services and retirement, but it must also include estimating efforts and achievement, facing challenges and risks, and setting appropriate measures for them. Appreciation, especially during exceptional circumstances such as crises and disasters, as this pandemic is a global health and economic disaster.

The resident medical staff is a major nerve in the medical system, and despite the limitations of the national staff, their fingerprints are tangible and we stress the importance of their appreciation, and we believe that the possibilities of motivating and honoring the national staff should be studied in a parallel and similar way to the deserved appreciation that our brothers received from the resident medical staff.

We also hope that what was done in the Department of Health in Abu Dhabi and the Dubai Health Authority, where the administrative leadership competencies, who preside over the management of two important vital nerves in the medical sector, were empowered, by choosing national doctors to be undersecretary of the department, and another as a deputy director general, which indicates that The leadership’s appreciation of specialization and national competencies, and support for the distinguished administrative leadership competencies that preside over the career ladder with distinct experiences and empowering them with the appropriate component of those with specialized medical expertise, so that their right hand and supportive them as a leader, to integrate leadership capabilities and skills with specialized medical knowledge.

It also prompts us to propose the development of a specialized medical career path for the national medical staff, accompanied by financial and technical degrees and continuous training programs for development within the career path plans.

Changing some positions is vital, while pushing new blood from national leaders who have proven their competence and gained the trust of the community, whether through their participation in social media channels or news channels to reassure the public or explain and simplify the specialized medical aspects for them in a way that contributes to maintaining reassurance, preventing panic and fighting rumours. , including the national competencies, some of which turned to the private medical sector, and proved their existence despite the difficulty and challenges of private work, while some still believe that the citizen element is not yet ready to explore its depths, and they proved the error of theorists or those who bet on the lack of chances of their success.

The boldness of some in curbing some competencies and fighting them leads us to question the feasibility and effectiveness of internal control and audit mechanisms in some institutions, and whether it was possible to address the causes or was it limited to treating symptoms only.

The integration of institutional work was not limited to positive discrimination of the medical staff, but also included the development of innovative digital services such as “Bin Wareqa for Emergency Cases”, which aims to enhance the speed of response of doctors working in the first line of defense in emergencies, which was launched by the Ministry of Interior, and this comes as a complement to the appreciation It is a noble message and deserved appreciation, reflecting the leadership’s keenness to honor the estimated achievement, efforts, and sacrifices, and a role model for the second and third leadership ranks and for the lowest administrative level. Our most important national gains, which preserved our lives and fight a global pandemic, are endangering themselves for the sake of our safety. The least we wish for them is a better quality of life at work, and deserved incentives, which our leadership always seeks to enhance our competitiveness and institutional work values.
