At times in July, more than 90 euros were paid for one megawatt hour on the German electricity exchange;

this is the highest price in 16 years.

Why is that?

And why should an electricity provider of all things be attractive to customers who supplies customers with electricity at the purchase price?

Marion Nöldgen, General Manager of the Scandinavian electricity provider Tibber, has the answers.

She believes: Only with smart electricity meters can customers finally use the freedom of design that the liberalized electricity market is supposed to offer.

This may be of particular interest to electric car owners.

We introduce Tibber, the business model and the questions that arise from it.
