A doctor of Arab origin poisoned his British partner during the "expulsion of the jinn"

Jury found Hossam Metwally guilty on 8 counts (BBC)

An anesthesiologist at the British Department of Health and a specialist in the treatment of recurrent pain symptoms appears before the British court on charges of poisoning his partner during the practice of rituals linked to exorcising evil spirits.

The doctor, Hossam Metwally, 61, carried out “dangerous practices” under the pretext of “legitimacy of ruqyah,” as he injected her with narcotic substances, which caused the failure of many of her vital organs.

According to the BBC, the jury found Metwally guilty of eight counts, including injecting the victim with a harmful substance and one count of fraud.

The accused believed that spirits possessed his accomplice, according to what he told the court, and he had to get rid of them, and the jury learned that he had performed 250 dangerous practices involving strange rituals over a period of 4 years, starting in 2016.

In one of the shots, Metwally appears to have tied Wilson with a black tie, then chanted some amulets and appeared to be talking to a fairy named Magdalena, asking Wilson if she felt it.

The jurors heard the testimony of an Islamic cleric who asserted that the legal ruqyah is known, but without the use of anesthesia and endangering the lives of others.

Metwally was arrested after Wilson fell into a coma as she was on the verge of suffering an angina pectoris and required hospitalization that evening.

The police found a large amount of narcotics in the accused's home.

After sentencing Metwally, Judge Jeremy Richardson said he had never come across a case this strange.

"It is shocking that a doctor stands in the dock on such serious charges," Judge Lamtwally, who was working in a hospital affiliated with the Department of Health, said.

He added that the accused is considered a "dangerous criminal".

Metwally completed his medical studies in Egypt and moved to work in Saudi Arabia before traveling to Britain and practicing his profession there.

The final verdict will be issued on Metwally on September 20.
