Do you know the famous anecdote about the dynamics of the headlines in French newspapers after Napoleon fled the island of Elba in 1815? If suddenly not, I’m ready to tell you: “The Corsican monster has landed in the Bay of Juan”, “The cannibal goes to Grasse”, “The usurper entered Grenoble”, “Bonaparte occupied Lyon”, “Napoleon is approaching Fontainebleau”, “His imperial majesty is expected today in his faithful Paris. " And here's a modern version of this anecdote - the dynamics of statements by Ukrainian officials about the future meeting of Zelensky and Biden as these same officials are geographically closer to Washington.

David Arakhamia, head of the Servant of the People faction in the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, at the end of July this year: "I expect, given the degree, that at least Zelensky's non-public meeting with Biden will be in a raised voice." Dmitry Kuleba, Ukrainian Foreign Minister, after his arrival in Washington, early August this year: “Presidents have a number of great topics. But whatever they are, there will be no "raised tones" or blackmail. There will be a conversation between allies working together to solve complex problems of security and prosperity of Ukraine, Europe and the Euro-Atlantic space. "

Putting these two quotes side by side, I initially considered this act of mine not entirely honest. David Arakhamia and Dmitry Kuleba are two different people with two fundamentally different positions. A senior parliamentarian has the right to make sometimes contradictory statements that are not entirely compatible with diplomatic etiquette. The task of the Minister of Foreign Affairs is to smooth out and harmonize, while firmly protecting the interests of his country.

However, after rereading what I had written and remembering the numerous past statements of Dmitry Kuleba, which were not at all diplomatic in style, I calmed down. In terms of his ability to be rude (excuse my vocabulary, but in this case, you probably can't say it differently), the Ukrainian Foreign Minister is quite a worthy competitor to David Arakhamia. Therefore, the point here is not at all about the difference between the two politicians. The point here is exactly what I said initially. Sitting in Kiev in the Verkhovna Rada, the head of the Servant of the People faction is at a distance of 7835 kilometers from the "collective Napoleon" in Washington. And the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, together with the head of Zelensky's presidential office, Andriy Yermak, are now visiting this “collective Napoleon”.

Each of us has come across a situation when “courageous” subordinates scold their boss behind the backs.

Like, he is so, and so!

I will not tolerate this any longer, and next time I will certainly show him everything and express everything!

And here comes this "next time".

And what happens to our brave warrior hero?

He suddenly turns into a gray mouse again, or, if you like, into a bunny-bunny.

Like, what will you please, my beloved leader?

What a wise direction you give!

I myself would never have thought of such a thing!

That's the whole story about the stay of Dmitry Kuleba and Andrei Yermak in the American capital in order to prepare a face-to-face conversation between Zelensky and Biden "in elevated" (oh, sorry, "in even and kind") tones.

Or not, probably, it's still not all.

The anecdote about the headlines of French newspapers so sunk into my soul that late at night I got out of bed and found in the back streets of the world wide web a scan of the same issue of the "Universal Monitor" - the main government newspaper in France - for March 21, 1815.

This is what the official chronicle in the upper left corner of this newspaper looks like: “The king and princes left that night.

His Majesty the Emperor arrived at his palace in the Tuileries at eight o'clock in the evening. "

I can imagine how the brains of the editors of this newspaper exploded when they typeset this issue.

On the one hand, in their eyes, the authorities seem to be still "the king and princes", and on the other - already "His Majesty the Emperor."

So, as I suspect, the brains of the Ukrainian political leadership are exploding in a similar way almost on a daily basis.

The system of external American government in Ukraine is something completely unnatural. Even the most pro-American members of the Kiev elite cannot fail to understand this in the depths of their souls. But getting rid of this "unnatural superstructure" with the current cadre of the Ukrainian political class is absolutely impossible. David Arahamia spoke out as an amateur, a rather naive person who does not understand anything about real international politics. But he spoke from the heart, revealed secret desires - and not only his own.

The manner in which Zelenskiy spoke about Biden in his June interview with the American news portal Axios leaves no room for doubt: the President of Ukraine would like more than anything else to bang his fist on the table at a meeting with his American counterpart and say something like “Don't play the fool, America! " But Zelensky won't do that, will he? Instead, at a meeting with Biden, he will fawn, smile and in every possible way portray the highest form of political ecstasy.

To protect the real national interests of Ukraine at a meeting with the US President, one must “be a little Napoleon Bonaparte,” in the sense of a brave person.

Zelensky is not Napoleon at all.

Usually, in such cases, they say "did not come out with growth."

The growth of the leader of Ukraine just came out: Napoleon's height was 168 centimeters, Zelensky's height is 170 centimeters.

But he is still not Napoleon in any place.
