Emmanuel Macron confirmed Thursday that the executive was preparing to organize an anti-Covid vaccine booster campaign "at the start of the school year" for "the most fragile and the oldest".

"Yes, it will probably take a 3rd dose, not for everyone right away but in any case for the oldest and most fragile (...), at this stage, but we learn at each step", he said. he explained during a 9th selfie video shot from Fort Brégançon, his summer residence.

He had already announced on July 12 the principle of a recall campaign at the start of the school year for the most vulnerable, as do other countries, such as Israel.

The exact perimeter of people who will be offered a vaccine booster at the start of the school year should be the subject of arbitration "next week", the Ministry of Health announced on Tuesday.

Currently, the third dose is only recommended for people who are immunosuppressed, such as those who have received a transplant.

Pedagogical explanations

On Wednesday, in a previous video tablet, Emmanuel Macron had specified that the health pass would not be compulsory for students at the start of the school year, "from kindergarten to college" but that vaccination and testing campaigns would be organized for pupils and students.

Since Monday, the Head of State has been posting on social networks, including Instagram and TikTok, widely watched by young people, educational explanations on the vaccine, while a mandatory health pass must be implemented in a few days extended to new public places, including cafes and restaurants.

Subject to the validation of the law by the Constitutional Council, whose verdict is expected during the day.

For this 9th video, the Head of State has once again changed the scenery, filming himself in a shirt without a tie in the gardens of the fort.
