It climbs, it climbs… The number of hospitalized covid-19 patients now stands at more than 8,000 patients, including nearly 1,400 in intensive care units, according to data published Wednesday by Public Health France.

In detail, French hospitals now welcome 8,134 Covid patients, including 772 hospitalized in the past 24 hours.

A threefold increase in one week

The number of Covid patients has more than tripled in a week: hospitals numbered 2,511 last Wednesday.

In the intensive care units, where the most seriously ill patients are treated, the pressure is also increasing with 1,371 registered patients, including 157 in 24 hours.

They were less than one thousand (992) a week before.

The number of daily deaths in hospitals is also on the rise with 53 deaths in one day.

In terms of vaccination, 43,684,272 people received at least one injection (i.e. 64.8% of the total population) and 36,315,549 people now have a complete vaccination schedule (i.e. 53.9% of the total population) , according to the Directorate General of Health (DGS).
