According to police, several people were injured in alleged shots in a small town in southern Sweden.

As the responsible police announced on Tuesday, several callers reported loud popping noises in the Näsby district in the afternoon in the city of Kristianstad.

The alerted officers found people with suspected gunshot wounds at various locations.

At first, the police could not say anything about the severity of the injuries.

A police spokesman told the newspaper "Aftonbladet" that there were at least two alleged injuries.

They were found both indoors and outdoors.

“We are now working to get an overview of the incident and the number of injuries.

We have a lot of work to do, ”said Rickard Lundqvist.

The exact circumstances are still unclear.

According to police, alleged shots were fired in Kristianstad on Monday evening.

At the scene of the crime, however, only indications of gunshots were discovered, no injured persons.

The police cordoned off the residential area as well as the city center of Gamlegården.

Kristianstad is just under 100 kilometers northeast of Malmö. Sweden has long struggled with violence between rival gangs. Especially in the larger cities of Stockholm, Gothenburg and Malmö, but also in many other places in the country, there have been shots and deliberate explosions in recent months and years.
