On the night of the 2nd, a man who was assaulted in Dotonbori, Chuo-ku, Osaka, was killed.

Police are investigating the whereabouts of a man who fled the scene on suspicion of murder.

According to the police, after 8 pm on the 2nd, a passerby reported that "a man is drowning in a river" in Dotonbori, a downtown area in Chuo-ku, Osaka.



The man was rescued by the fire department and taken to the hospital, but died shortly thereafter.



From sightings of people around him, it is believed that the man was assaulted by another man along the river in Dotonbori just before and was pushed down.

It means that the man who pushed the man down escaped from the scene.



The site is a sidewalk along the river just below Ebisubashi, a typical bridge in Dotonbori, which is also known as a tourist destination.



Police are verifying the identity of the dead man and investigating the whereabouts of the man who fled on suspicion of murder.
