Now, 52.6% of French people have received their two doses of the coronavirus vaccine.

But some women have had the unfortunate surprise to see effects on their menstrual cycle.

Delay of menstruation, immediate onset, intense pain… Many testify to this even if no link with the vaccine has been proven for the moment.

"I had extremely painful periods for three days, I even had discomfort," says Eva. After the coronavirus vaccine, this 21-year-old student experienced two weeks of anguish and incomprehension. Her period was late. And when they finally arrived, Eva almost went to the emergency room because the pain was so bad. This student is not the only one. In any case, more and more women are complaining of unusual pain and dysregulation. The National Agency for the Safety of Medicines and Health Products (ANSM) thus decided on Friday to classify menstrual disorders after vaccination as a "potential signal". And for good reason, 36 cases have already been reported with Moderna, out of more than 6.4 million injections, and 229 with the Pfizer vaccine,on more than 53 million bites.

"It's crazy that this subject is not put forward more"

On social networks, women evoke unbearable pain.

Some even thought they were having a miscarriage.

For lack of studies on the subject, Louisadonna, artist and psychologist, launched a poll on Instagram to try to assess the extent of the phenomenon.

"I have received 140 testimonials for the moment. Many people were afraid of being pregnant because there was a stop of the rules for several months", she explains.

I confirm rumors about painful menstruation post-vaccine

For Louisadonna, "it's pretty crazy that this subject is not put forward more".

"It concerns at least half of the population!", She continues.

Inflammation after the immune response

These disturbances could well be related to the vaccine.

In any case, this is the point of view of Nasrine Callet, gynecologist.

"When we make a vaccine, we trigger an immune storm in the body so that the white blood cells defend themselves against the virus. All of this creates an inflammatory reaction which can also be located in the gynecological organs, hence the period disorders ", explains this doctor.

But this is only a hypothesis.

While waiting for a reliable study on the subject, Nasrine Callet recommends warning women when they are vaccinated.
