On July 31, He Qinghua, the first-level inspector of the CDC of the National Health Commission, analyzed that the Nanjing epidemic was different from previous epidemics and had three characteristics: First, the epidemic was caused by the import of a delta mutant strain.

The viral load is high, the transmission capacity is strong, the transmission speed is fast, and the time to turn negative is long.

Second, the time is relatively special. It is the midsummer and summer vacation when people gather in tourist resorts.

Third, the place where it happened was an international airport with dense population and relatively large circulation.

Because of these three characteristics, the epidemic has now spread to other cities in the province or outside the province, and there is still a risk of continuing to spread to other regions in the short term.
