The emergencies of Senlis hospital (Oise) closed this Saturday until October 2, patients being referred to Creil hospital, management announced, caregivers denouncing a chronic situation of shortage of staff and saturation of services.

This is "to ensure optimal conditions of safety for patients and professionals", specifies the management of the hospital on the site of the establishment.

At first, it had announced a reduced operation during the summer.

"All of the adult emergency activities of the GHPSO (South Oise public hospital group) will therefore be grouped together temporarily on the Creil site", the other site making up this group, located 13 km from Senlis, the press release continued.

The two hospitals merged in 2012, creating the GHPSO.

According to management, "this territorial organization, set up in coordination with the other establishments in the sector and the SAMU 60, makes it possible to meet the needs of patients 24 hours a day, 7 days a week in the population pool covered by the GHPSO".

"This is where the merger of our hospitals is taking us"

The defense committee of the Senlis hospital was already moved on July 21 by the announcement of a minimum operation. “This is where the merger of our hospitals or rather the absorption of our hospital by that of Creil is taking us. As usual Senlis is paying the price, ”he lamented on his Facebook page. The committee calls for "a real emergency service in Senlis as well as the return of the Resuscitation".

The collective "The White Blouses of Emergencies of Creil" had for its part warned against a summer "even more disastrous than the others for the emergency sites of Creil and Senlis".

"Being already overloaded, Creil will have to absorb the Senlis sector in addition, this operation will lead to an extension of the time to be treated, a deterioration in the quality of care with even more hospitalizations of stretchers due to a lack of downstream beds", s 'he was worried.

Recalling that the service is still on strike as part of a national movement, the collective emphasizes that "in a little over two years, 8 doctors have left the emergency department", in particular because of the degradation working conditions.
