On July 30, the reporter learned from the Ninth Flood Control and Disaster Relief Press Conference in Henan Province that the accumulated water in Weihui City is falling at a rate of 2-3 cm per hour, and it is expected that the urban waterlogging will be basically eliminated by tonight.
Previously, due to continuous heavy rainfall, the urban area of Weihui City, located in the northern part of Henan Province, had serious water accumulation, with a maximum water depth of about 2 meters. Especially due to the inflow of water in the power distribution room of the drainage pump station, the pump station stopped working, and the only drainage outlet in the city was once blocked. Interrupted, hundreds of thousands of residents in the city were transferred.
According to Ren Qiang, deputy director of the Henan Provincial Water Resources Department who attended the press conference, the Henan Provincial Water Resources Department has taken a number of measures in order to eliminate waterlogging in Weihui City as soon as possible and restore urban operation order.
Ren Qiang said that the water conservancy department has dug a drainage channel in the Jiangnv River in Dongmeng.
"On July 27, the water level of the Wei River dropped, 1.3 meters below the water level in the flooded area, and it was able to excavate a drainage channel from the left embankment of the lower reaches of the Jiangnv River in Dongmeng, and drain the waterlogged water to the Weihe River via the Jiangnv River in Dongmeng. Respectively on July 28 The two discharge channels were opened at 7:45 and 15:45, and the maximum discharge flow was 115 cubic meters per second. As the water level drops, the current discharge flow has dropped to 30 cubic meters per second."
Weihui also deployed drainage equipment locally to increase drainage to Weihe and Dongmeng Jiangnv River.
Before July 29th, 30 sets of pumping and drainage equipment have been installed, with a pumping capacity of 1.32 million cubic meters per day; after July 29, 70 sets of high-power pumping and drainage equipment have been deployed, with a pumping capacity of about 3 million cubic meters per day; now the total is pumped Displacement of 4.32 million cubic meters per day accelerates urban drainage.
According to Ren Qiang, Weihui City also repaired the Siwan Drainage Pumping Station in time, replaced the electrical equipment, and restored the pumping capacity of 400,000 cubic meters per day.
"As of 14:00 on July 30, the water level of Siwan Pumping Station (near the temporary drainage channel excavated) has dropped by 137 cm, the water level in Weihui City has dropped by more than 110 cm on average, and the deepest point has dropped by 135 cm." Ren Qiang and Wei Hui said. The accumulated water in the urban area is falling at a rate of 2-3 centimeters per hour, and it is expected that the urban flooding will be basically eliminated by tonight.
