(Fighting New Coronary Pneumonia) Visit to the Nanjing "Falcon" Laboratory: The nucleic acid detection capacity reaches 1.8 million copies during the overnight operation

China News Service, Nanjing, July 30 (Reporter Zhu Xiaoying) Located in the Youth Olympic Sports Park Gymnasium in Jiangbei New District, Nanjing, the air film laboratory of the Falcon, which has been completed and put into use, is operating overnight, with a daily nucleic acid detection capacity of 1.8 million people. share.

A press conference held in Nanjing on the 30th announced that from 0-24 on July 29, 2021, 13 new confirmed cases of new coronary pneumonia in Nanjing (one of which was an asymptomatic infected person converted to a confirmed case), no new cases Asymptomatic infection.

As of 24:00 on July 29, Nanjing City had reported a total of 184 confirmed local cases (of which 82 were mild, 94 were normal, and 8 were severe), and 1 local asymptomatic infection was reported.

Among the 185 cases of infection, there were 157 in Jiangning District, 11 in Lishui District, 4 in Jianye District, 4 in Gulou District, 3 in Yuhuatai District, 2 in Qinhuai District, and 2 in Gaochun District, and 1 in Xuanwu District and Qixia District. .

Nanjing is carrying out the third round of nucleic acid testing for all employees.

On the afternoon of the 30th, a reporter from Chinanews.com visited the "Falcon" gas film laboratory operated by Jinyu Medical.

In the gymnasium, a total of 18 semi-arc-shaped gas film laboratories in 6 groups have been put into use, covering an area of more than 1,000 square meters, which are divided into three areas: reagent preparation area, sample processing area, and amplification area.

Through the transparent membrane wall of the laboratory, the reporter saw that the staff were working intensively in the negative pressure laboratory to conduct operational inspections on the throat swab samples sent in continuously.

During the interview, Li Huiyuan, vice president of Jinyu Medical, said that starting from the 24th, they will transport equipment from Guangzhou and Changsha to Nanjing respectively. They will start to build in the early morning of the 25th, and the "Falcon" laboratory will be put into use on the 26th.

At present, the daily detection capacity of 6 groups of gas film laboratories can exceed 180,000 tubes. Under the "10-mix 1" sampling method, 1.8 million nucleic acid tests can be completed per day.

According to reports, in response to the Nanjing epidemic, the "Falcon" air film laboratory is equipped with more than 400 sets of detection related equipment, such as PCR amplification, automatic opening and sample addition, automatic nucleic acid extraction, and automatic sampling. The inspection process is automated and informatized, and the inspection efficiency is further improved.

“In the most technically demanding sample spotting process, it used to require very skilled staff to spot samples manually. A plate of 91 samples can be completed in 10 to 15 minutes. Now, with the automatic spotting instrument, it only takes ten seconds. It can be done." Li Huiyuan said.

Li Huiyuan said that the "Falcon" gas film laboratory has achieved automation in all steps of reagent configuration, sample addition, nucleic acid extraction, spotting, amplification analysis, and issuance of result reports.

"If you follow the manual detection method in the past, the average person can process about 500 samples a day, and now through automation, the average person can process more than 1,500 samples a day, which is three times the number in the past."

A reporter from Chinanews.com saw that the overall layout of the laboratory was displayed on the electronic screen above the gymnasium.

Li Huiyuan introduced that the large electronic screen displays the partition management of the sample area, testing area, medical waste disposal area, and employee rest area, so that the inspectors can see it at a glance.

Previously, the "Falcon" gas film laboratory was used during the Guangdong fight against the "epidemic".

Li Huiyuan said that the experience accumulated during the "epidemic" in Guangdong was also used here.

"For example, in Guangzhou at that time, 6 groups of air film laboratories were also built, and they were divided into 3 batches, which took nearly 5 days. This time in Nanjing, 6 groups of air film laboratories were constructed simultaneously, and it only took It was done in two days."

Wang Youkun, the administrative director of the East China Region of Golden Mile Medical Group, told reporters that this time, they urgently selected about 160 elite soldiers from all over the country who are responsible for testing, most of which are "post-95s."

Although the team is young, many of them have participated in war "epidemic" work in Wuhan, Guangzhou, Beijing and other places and have rich experience.

At present, in response to the recent confirmed cases of new coronary pneumonia in various parts of the country, Li Huiyuan said that if there is a need for screening in various places in the future, the laboratory will be set up on the spot to quickly improve the detection capacity.

At the same time, the "Falcon" mobile detection vehicle can be deployed to the frontline of the anti-epidemic more maneuverably and quickly to conduct timely detection of throat swab sampling.
