Due to the problem that the necessary reinforcing bars were not included in the seismic retrofitting work of the bridge that straddles the Central Expressway in Tokyo, the Central Nippon Expressway, which ordered the work, established a new office specializing in seismic retrofitting work. However, we announced recurrence prevention measures that include strengthening construction management.

Last year, it was revealed that the rebar of the "abutment" that supports the bridge girder was insufficient due to the seismic retrofitting work of the three bridges that straddle the Chuo Expressway in Hino City and Chofu City, Tokyo.

The Central Nippon Expressway, which ordered the construction, set up an investigation committee consisting of outside lawyers to investigate the cause and announced recurrence prevention measures on the 30th.

According to this,

▽ an office specializing in seismic retrofitting work will be set up to strengthen construction management, and

▽ work will be checked by involving not only the department in charge but also employees from multiple departments. It is said to enhance the function.

In addition, in order to keep the time of the completion target, it is said that the background of the problem was that the construction was forcibly proceeded, and it will be inspected whether the current business plan is achievable in the future.

On the other hand, in order to clarify management responsibility, a part of the remuneration of four officers including President Yoshihito Miyaike will be voluntarily returned for three months.

At a press conference held on the 30th, President Miyaike said, "In order to prevent such a situation from happening again, we will definitely implement measures to prevent recurrence and work together as a company to restore trust."
