Beijing recently announced the "Action Plan for Promoting the High-quality Development of the Southern Area of the City (2021-2025)", determined to put more major functional activities and projects in the southern area, and guide major projects to prioritize the layout of major projects in the southern part of the city and the direction of high-quality resources. In recent years, Fangshan District has introduced 15 high-quality educational resources from Beijing No. 4 Middle School, Beijing No. 8 Middle School, and High School Attached to Capital Normal University. The concentration of innovative elements in Liangxiang University Town has accelerated, and 67 national, provincial and ministerial key laboratories have been established.
Five universities including Beijing Institute of Technology have established a number of advantageous disciplines, R&D platforms and new R&D centers, with 46,000 teachers and students, and 30 academicians.
