There are a dozen youth authors in Guinea-Conakry, although to date none of them has managed to make a living from it.

However, children's literature is developing in the country as elsewhere in the sub-region.

Publicity

The objective: to tell Guinean children stories that are familiar to them, with characters who resemble them.

These Guinean authors take up social themes such as begging, parental violence against their children or the arrival of menstruation ...

What can be the role of children's literature?

How to use storytelling to teach French to children, and what place for local languages?

How can parents be made aware of the importance of reading?
