In response to the rapid spread of the new coronavirus infection, the "Kansai Wide Area Union" formed by local governments in the Kansai region held a countermeasures headquarters meeting to prevent the increase in the number of people during the summer vacation and Obon festival, including the Olympic Games. In response, we have decided to strongly call for refraining from traffic to and from areas where infection has spread and to refrain from unnecessary and unurgent traffic across prefectures.

Governor Yoshinobu Nisaka of Wakayama Prefecture, who is the head of the Union, attended the meeting of the countermeasures headquarters of the "Kansai Wide Area Union". It was reported that the number of infected people is increasing significantly in Kyoto Prefecture as well.

On that basis, we decided to call on the citizens of the prefecture to take further measures against infection, saying that the number of people is expected to increase further during the summer vacation and Obon festival, including the Tokyo Olympics, and that sufficient caution is required.

Specifically, we refrain from going to and from areas where the infection has spread during travel and homecoming, refraining from unnecessary and unurgent traffic across prefectures, and to support the Olympics, we do not go to restaurants and watch TV at home. We are seeking actions that do not lead to the spread of infection.

We also decided to actively participate in vaccination, continue to wear masks after vaccination, and secure a distance from people to ensure thorough basic infection control measures.

Governor Yoshinobu Nisaka of Wakayama "Infection situation is not easy"

After the meeting, Governor Yoshinobu Nisaka of Wakayama Prefecture, who is the head of the Union of Kansai Governments, said, "The infection situation is becoming difficult. I don't know, but please be careful not to let it get infected. "
