Scarlett Johansson, who stars in

Black Widow

, has sued Disney for breach of contract.

The actress disagrees that the Marvel film premiered in theaters and on the Disney+ streaming service on the same day.

"Disney intentionally violated the agreement with Marvel, which prevented Ms. Johansson from taking full advantage of her deal with Marvel,"

Variety is

quoted as saying

in the indictment.

The amount that the actress receives for the film largely depends on how many cinema tickets are sold.

To date, ticket sales for the film have raised around $319 million (almost 270 million euros) worldwide.

That's one of the lowest yields of a Marvel movie.

Disney announced in March that the film would premiere in theaters and via its own streaming service on the same day.

Disney+ subscribers must pay to watch the film.

According to Johansson's lawyer, Disney is hiding behind the corona pandemic and the film immediately appeared on Disney+, because the company wants more subscribers.
