Regarding the relocation work of the US military Futenma base off the coast of Henoko, Nago City, it was found that the Okinawa Defense Bureau has begun transplanting coral in the sea area scheduled for reclamation from the afternoon of the 29th.

On the 28th, Okinawa Prefecture seems to have responded to the permission of the transplant after setting multiple conditions.

Regarding the relocation work of Futenma base off Henoko, Nago city, the Okinawa Defense Bureau applied to the prefecture for permission to move and protect about 40,000 colonies in the sea area to be reclaimed. ..

On the 28th, the prefecture approved the application under multiple conditions, such as avoiding high water temperatures to improve the survival rate.

In the video taken by NHK from the sky around 3:00 pm, it was confirmed that multiple divers were putting things like coral into the aquarium inside the boat of the Okinawa Defense Bureau one after another.

Approximately 30 minutes later, the divers took a boat to the waters that were supposed to be transplanted about a kilometer away, and the divers went underwater with a container containing something like coral.

As soon as the coral transplantation is completed, the Okinawa Defense Bureau plans to start construction of a new revetment and construction to extend the revetment that has already been partially completed.

In addition, regarding the relocation plan of Futenma base, the Okinawa Defense Bureau applied for a design change in April last year in order to improve the soft ground found at the planned landfill site, and the prefecture is carefully examining it.
