It has been five years since the Sinjar region in northwestern Iraq was liberated from the Islamic State group.

Five years that this cradle of the Yézidi religious minority has struggled to rebuild itself.

Since the beginning of June 2020, tens of thousands of families have yet returned to the region, in particular because of the coronavirus.

But once there, these displaced people face many challenges, between destruction and insecurity.
