Barely more than 20 days after falling below the symbolic bar of a thousand Covid patients admitted to intensive care, France has just crossed this threshold again.

Critical care services welcomed 1,015 patients on Thursday, against 992 on Wednesday, and 868 a week ago, with 91 new admissions in the last 24 hours, according to figures from Public Health France.

The number of hospitalizations has also increased slightly, with 7,236 patients Thursday against 7,208 Wednesday, and 501 new admissions since the day before.

In the past 24 hours, 29 patients have died in hospital.

On the vaccination side, since the start of the campaign at the end of 2020, 41,674,094 people have received at least one injection (i.e. 61.8% of the total population) and 34,758,961 people now have a complete vaccination schedule (i.e. 51.6% of the total population), the General Directorate of Health said in a statement.
