Queen Elisabeth II has made a historic decision: the British people - or tourists visiting London - will be able to picnic in her gardens at Buckingham Palace.

Until September 19, from 10 am, you can taste your scone under the royal windows, but also discover the 325 plants that live there in harmony with the 30 species of birds and more than 1,000 trees.

A tour of the Royal Gardens costs from £ 16.50 per adult.

. Online shopping, if it increased during confinement, has not made it possible to fill the shortfall of closures to the public according to successive confinements. As a result, 165 jobs were cut, "124 on voluntary departure and 6 forced". Fixed-term contracts were not renewed, internships and apprenticeships were canceled.

The Royal Family's real estate open to the public is brought together in the Royal Collection Trust and includes Windsor Castle, Frogmore House, The Royal Mews and the Palace of Holyroodhouse, in addition to Buckingham Palace.

No public funds are allocated to the Royal Collection Trust, the site specifies.

This is not the first time that the Queen has allowed the public access to her residence.

After the fire that ravaged part of Buckingham Palace in 1992, Elisabeth II opened its doors to the public the following year to finance the restoration.

She never closed them.
