China News Service, Kunming, July 27 (Reporter Hu Yuanhang) The provincial headquarters of the Asian elephant safety precautions for the northward movement of Yunnan Province reported on the evening of the 27th that at 5:40 on July 27th, the Asian elephants moved northward from Honghe Prefecture. Ping County enters Yuanjiang County via Yangwu Town, Xinping County, Yuxi City.

As of press time, the elephant group is active in the woodland near Ganzhuang Street, Yuanjiang County. The elephant group is within the monitoring range, and the elephant group is safe.

As the elephants moved, the on-site headquarters also moved from Shiping County to Yuanjiang County.

  The monitoring results showed that from 17:00 on July 21 to 17:00 on July 27, the northward Asian elephant group wandered in Shiping County for 7 days, and the overall movement was 63 kilometers southwest.

  During the elephant group’s stay in Shiping, the on-site headquarters took measures such as excavation of the elephant road, feeding and guidance, elephant guards following, and personnel (vehicles) control along the route to scientifically help the elephant group to migrate.

Since July 22, a total of 750 emergency response personnel and police forces have been deployed, 401 muck trucks, 40 excavators, 395 emergency vehicles were dispatched, 1,558 households with 5581 people were evacuated, 14.39 tons of elephant food were dropped, and 893 vehicles were advised to return. There are 2,142 people in the vehicle, and 19 drones are put into use every day.
