The city of Nice is now listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, we learned on Tuesday.

The mayor of Nice, Christian Estrosi, officially announced it on Twitter.

“Nice, our city that we love so much, is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

It becomes, for the whole planet, one of the reference cities of the world heritage.

It is a historical event, unique in our history by its dimension and its impact ”, we can read on his account.

In 2019, the city was not selected by the international body.

Christian Estrosi has never hidden his ambition to see the city classified by Unesco, since his election in 2008.
