The Prime Minister announced it on July 21 and it is now official.
People fully vaccinated against Covid-19 will no longer be required to respect an isolation period if they come into contact with an infected person, the Ministry of Health said on Tuesday.
"All people (...) who have received a complete (vaccination) schedule for at least 7 days (...) are not required to comply with quarantine", indicates the Directorate General of Health (DGS) in a note "DGS- urgent ”, which serves as an instruction for health professionals.
The deadline is extended to 4 weeks for people who have received the Janssen single-dose vaccine.
Two tests to perform
These vaccinated people must nevertheless carry out two screening tests: one immediately when they are informed of their contact case status and another 7 days after their last contact with the infected person (17 days if this person lives in the same household, without possibility of "strictly isolating").
They are also asked to “wear a mask in public spaces, inform their contacts (contact-warning) and limit their social interactions”.
The exception to this new rule is anyone "suffering from severe immunosuppression", even if they have been given a third dose.
This mainly concerns people who have received an organ transplant, patients undergoing chemotherapy, those receiving strong antisuppressive treatments and chronic dialysis patients.
