Xinhua News Agency, Hohhot, July 27th (Reporter Wei Jingyu) A few days ago, the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region Institute of Cultural Relics and Archaeology discovered a lower-level Xiajiadian cultural site in Sanzuodian Town, Ningcheng County, Chifeng City, Inner Mongolia. The site of the functional house was determined by the archaeologists to be an "air-conditioned room" from the prehistoric period.

This "air-conditioned room" is located in the middle part of the Xiaotangshan site in Xiaotangtugou Village, Sanzuodian Town. The whole is divided by stone walls, and it is in three rings, each of which is about 1 meter apart. It can be clearly seen that there are several partitions in the gap of the ring-shaped stone wall that regulate the air flow.

The space of the innermost ring is about 1 meter deep into the ground, and the effect of warm in winter and cool in summer is very obvious.

Lian Jilin, a researcher at the Institute of Cultural Relics and Archaeology of the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, said that the house site is in the form of a semi-crypt, surrounded by stones. The highest existing place is about 1 meter. The whole building can be warm in winter and cool in summer. The architectural form was discovered for the first time in China.

The lower cultural age of Xiajiadian is about 4000-3500 years ago. It was named after the original discovery at the Xiajiadian site in Chifeng City. It is an early Bronze Age culture in northern China.

The Institute of Cultural Relics and Archaeology of the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region began to excavate the Xiaotangshan site in mid-May this year. Up to now, the area of archaeological excavations has reached 3,000 square meters. The relics found mainly include more than 20 houses, more than 10 ash pits and tombs 2. seat.

Other relics include sacrificial rings, sacrificial platforms, and horse faces of the city wall. The unearthed artifacts are mainly pottery, stone tools, bone tools, and a small number of bronze wares.

According to the judgment of archaeological experts, this period has entered the Bronze Age and the smelting technology is relatively advanced.

Lian Jilin said: "This archaeological excavation is of great value to the study of the local culture during the Xia and Shang periods, as well as the nature, attributes, and structure of the society, as well as the customs and life of the time."
