In Barcarès (Pyrénées-Orientales), a holiday village has decided to close its doors for prevention, according to information from France 3 Occitanie.

The detection of a series of positive cases for Covid-19 among its staff forced the director of the establishment, Jean-François Gourio, to isolate his village in order to "save the month of August".

The prefecture not having ordered anything, the decision remains preventive and autonomous.

The move is motivated by the hope that it will be able to reopen within a week if no staff member tests positive.

For the 150 holidaymakers present on site, a crisis unit has been activated in order to find them a rehousing solution for the next eight days.
