The total number of hospitalized Covid-19 patients, which passed the 7,000 mark on Monday, reached 7,137 on Tuesday, including 557 new patients admitted in the past 24 hours.
28 deaths in hospital have also been recorded since the day before.
While France has been facing a surge in contamination since the beginning of July due to the Delta variant, which is more contagious, and the lifting of the latest restrictions, the pressure on the hospital has remained contained until then.
But for two weeks, hospital indicators have started to rise again.
Fewer serious forms

As of Monday, 40,264,973 people had received at least one injection (or 59.7% of the total population) and 33,624,428 people had a complete vaccination schedule (or 49.9% of the total population).
