China News Service, Urumqi, July 26 (Wang Xiaojun, Su Gangwei) On the 26th, reporters learned from the Xinjiang Shawan Public Security Bureau that the Shawan police arrested the last suspect in a robbery and murder case 20 years ago.
On the evening of October 19, 2001, in the depths of the grassland on the southern hillside of Wulanwusu Town, Shawan County, Xinjiang, a 16-year-old sheepboy, Hemou, was shot and killed with two shots, leaving 205 sheep missing.
After the incident, two of the three suspects were arrested one after another, and the other suspect, Wang Mou, who had only a pseudonym, escaped and disappeared.
Due to the limitation of the handling conditions at the time, the investigation of the case was once deadlocked.
Following the case, Wang Mou, the last suspect in the case, was successfully escorted back to Xinjiang by the police from Guangdong.
So far, this case, which was devoted to the efforts of several leadership groups of Shawan Public Security and the criminal investigation police, was finally solved.
In mid-July 2001, 21-year-old Wang, who was then 21 years old, went to the 143th Regiment of Shihezi City, the Eighth Division of Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps, from his hometown in Henan to Zhang, who was then 23 years old, to join his cousin Zhao. He met in Zhao’s farm. Pick up cotton and subsidize the household.
At first, Wang and Zhang went out early and returned late, and their wages were settled on a daily basis, and their lives were fairly fulfilling.
However, just one night in early August when Wang and Zhang were working in the 143 regiment for less than a month, Zhang suddenly took out a pistol in front of Wang and Zhao, and it was this gun that completely changed The fate of the three people thereafter.
"This gun was obtained by Zhang from a fellow villager Liu who had an economic dispute with him. In the middle of the night, in the cornfield of Zhao's house, the three of us took turns to extinguish the bullets in the gun. Because there was no fun, Zhang and I asked Zhao to find a way to get some bullets. In September, the idea of making money became the focus of the conversation between the three of us after dinner..." Wang recalled after being arrested.
At the beginning of October 2001, after the autumn harvest, Wang, Zhang, and Zhao, who had done odd farm work every day, split up to find targets in the 143th regiment where they lived and the neighboring Wulan Wusu Town in Shawan County.
In the end, the three of them focused on the 16-year-old victim He and his flock grazing deep in the grassland on the southern hillside of Ulan Wusu Town.
In the next few days, Wang and other three people discussed a good plan and divided the work.
Zhao was responsible for contacting the truck that transported the sheep, contacting the buyer, Zhang went out to purchase new shovels, binoculars, food, etc., Wang continued to watch, and from time to time he approached the victim almost...
On October 19th, the three felt that the time was ripe for them to bring their bullets back to the scene of the crime that afternoon.
According to the method discussed in the early stage, when the victim was unprepared, Zhang and Wang shot the victim in the head and neck, and worked together to bury the body in the tunnel dug in advance.
In the evening, the three people rushed the victim's 205 sheep to Shihezi City, loaded them and transported them to Urumqi City, and sold the flocks at 220 yuan each. After dividing the stolen goods, the three people scattered and fled.
During the period, Zhao's lover, Wei, left the residence of the 143 regiment ahead of time and took shelter in a guest house in Urumqi. He called on the phone to inquire about the news at any time to inform the three people.
The suspect Wang Mouqiang identified the crime scene.

On October 28, 2001, according to clues from various parties, the Shawan police successfully captured Lieutenant General Zhang in the home of Yongfeng Township, Xiangcheng City, Henan Province, and found 1 pistol and 5 bullets on the spot.
After a technical appraisal, the shells left at the scene of the crime were fired by the gun.
On December 14 of the same year, the suspect Zhao and his wife Wei were arrested in Korla, Xinjiang.
On August 9, 2002, after trial by the Tacheng District Intermediate People’s Court, Zhang was sentenced to death and Zhao was sentenced to a two-year reprieve. The other six suspects involved in the case were sentenced to periods ranging from 1 to 8 years. Imprisonment, only Wang is at large.
At that time, because Wang seldom interacted with other people during his work, he always used his alias (Wang, Fu) to show others, and no one knew his real name and home address.
After Zhang was arrested, he always insisted that he only met Wang when he was working in his hometown. He knew nothing about the others, and there was very little information available.
As far as the only clues and techniques were available at the time of the crime, the hunt for using the pseudonym Wang was like finding a needle in a haystack.
In early 2021, the Shawan Police “looked back” on the homicide cases over the years and put the above-mentioned cases on the agenda again.
In order to arrest Wang who was at large and bring him to justice as soon as possible, the Shawan police recalled all the six police officers who had participated in the case in the original squad, discussing and studying, recalling details, and seeking breakthroughs.
At the same time, the elite teams were selected to form a special class, and went to the Intermediate People's Court of Tacheng District to read the historical case files for re-examination, and to conduct verbatim judgments on the conversation transcripts of multiple criminal suspects, and to check for omissions.
At the end of February 2021, after unremitting efforts, the special police officers learned and judged from the fragmented memories of the original policemen who handled the case and the conversations of the prisoners who have served their sentences in the case. There are many connections between the fugitive Wang and Zhang. Wang Zhang and Zhang’s family of two should not be too far apart in their hometown.
In mid-March 2021, the police went to Henan and, with the assistance of the local police, based on Zhang’s home village team, through household registration data inquiries, surrounding village teams visited and investigated, and finally determined that Wang’s real name was Wang. Certainly, after being identified and repeatedly demonstrated by Wei, the only person in the case who had dealt with Wang after serving his sentence, various evidences showed that Wang was the last one who absconded for 20 years in the case. The suspect Wang is undoubtedly.
And learned that Wang is currently doing business in a certain place in Guangzhou.
To prevent Wang Mou absconding again after hearing the wind.
On March 22, 2021, after the police rushed to Guangzhou, according to clues, with the cooperation of the local police, they successfully captured Wang in Liwan District, Guangzhou.
After the on-site trial, Wang confessed to his involvement in the case.
It turned out that after the incident occurred in 2001, Wang returned to his hometown in Henan with Zhang after he was allocated 700 yuan in stolen money and a new suit.
After hearing that Zhang was arrested, Wang ran away overnight and went to Guangzhou to hide alone to help others sell fish for a living.
In 2003, after Wang met and got married with Li, a local watermaker, they have been helping his wife to take care of water and have a pair of children.
At present, the suspect Wang has been arrested by the Shawan City People’s Procuratorate according to law.
