There are responsibilities on the shoulders of the government, if it wants to move forward and successfully increase the number of Emiratis’ employment in the private sector. On the other hand, there is a societal and non-social responsibility, which requires the private sector to accept national graduates and employ them in various sectors.

What is currently happening is the mismatch between supply and demand for both parties, citizens looking for work on the one hand, and private sector companies on the other, both of which are not suitable for the other. Benefits, salaries, working hours, and official holidays are permanent obstacles that stand in the way of young citizens who wish to engage in the private sector. On the other hand, the high cost, the existence of the cheapest alternative, and the mismatch of qualification with the job are mostly the arguments of the private sector that make it not want to employ citizens!

Next, in order to ensure the success of any new plans to maximize the number of Emiratis’ employment in the private sector, the government must intervene to block the pretexts of the private sector companies, and the first of these excuses is for these companies to feel that the presence of the graduate or young citizen with them is a gain for them and not a burden on them, and that it is efficient Qualified for work and productivity.

Hence, it is necessary to design real training and rehabilitation programs that raise the efficiency of citizens, and bring them closer to the requirements of the labor market, especially that most of them are now prepared to a greater degree than before. They only need guidance and qualification to enter the labor market efficiently, and there is no doubt that they will not be less than others in skill and productivity.

It is also time for the government to contribute with the private sector to bear part of the citizens’ salaries, so that they reach acceptable and encouraging rates compared to their brothers and colleagues working in the government sector, and this idea is not new but is applied in many countries, and has achieved remarkable success in increasing the number of citizens Workers in the private sector in those countries, and with this step the government will remove the biggest obstacle to the entry of citizens to work in the private sector.

On the other hand, private sector companies must assume their responsibilities and work to attract citizens. For this, benefits and facilities must be effectively linked to the number of national employees. When companies feel that employing citizens has advantages and direct financial returns, and that these young people are qualified to work, And that the overall return with their presence is much better than their absence, it will never hesitate in appointing them, as it will not find a justification for not appointing them. On the contrary, it will find that its interest requires it to attract citizens to work for it. difficulty!
