(Fighting New Coronary Pneumonia) 3 more cases in Hong Kong Chen Zhaoshi: Will strengthen the inspection mechanism for exempt persons

  China News Agency, Hong Kong, July 25 (Reporter Han Xingtong) The Health Protection Center of the Department of Health of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government announced on the 25th that three new cases of new coronary pneumonia have been confirmed.

A few days ago, two children of Saudi Arabian consuls in Hong Kong violated the exemption conditions when they went out during self-isolation. The Director of the Food and Health Bureau of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government Chen Zhaoshi said that the Special Administrative Region Government will review the relevant mechanisms to strengthen supervision.

  The 3 newly confirmed cases involved 2 men and 1 woman, aged between 31 and 38 years old.

They are all asymptomatic and have arrived in Hong Kong from Tanzania, Russia and other places.

So far, the total number of confirmed cases in Hong Kong has increased to 11978.

  The Hong Kong Hospital Authority announced that as of 9 am, a total of 2 confirmed patients had been discharged from the hospital in the past 24 hours. So far, a total of 11,698 confirmed or suspected patients have recovered and been discharged.

A total of 32 confirmed patients are currently in hospital, of which one is in critical condition, one is in serious condition, and the remaining 30 are in stable condition.

  Earlier, a pair of children of the consul of Saudi Arabia in Hong Kong were diagnosed with new coronary pneumonia after arriving in Hong Kong a few days ago.

An investigation by the Department of Health of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government found that the two had gone out during self-isolation and violated the exemption conditions. Therefore, the two were disqualified from exemption from quarantine and sent them to compulsory isolation.

When meeting with reporters on the same day, Chen Zhaoshi stated that the Protocol Office has reminded consulates of various countries to comply with relevant quarantine requirements for exempt persons, and the SAR government will also review the mechanism to strengthen supervision.

  As for the recent imported cases and confirmed patients who have been vaccinated against the new crown, Chen Zhaoshi said that the SAR government has been paying attention to the number of infections after the new crown vaccine, but the relevant cases are currently found under the current entry testing mechanism and have not flowed into the community.

The SAR government will continue to monitor the situation, and then adjust the risk group of the relevant country based on the epidemic situation in each country.
