[Explanation] July is the most beautiful season in the grassland.

In Zhenglan Banner, Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, on the Jinlianchuan grassland with herds of cattle and sheep and golden lotus flowers in full bloom, there is the Yuanshangdu Site, the only world cultural heritage in Inner Mongolia.

Recently, the reporter visited the local area to learn about the past and present of this 700-year-old city.

[Explanation] Yuanshang Capital was founded in 1256 AD. The collision and fusion of nomadic civilization and farming civilization formed this prairie capital with a model value of cultural integration. It was the first capital city in the Yuan Dynasty to be established, unique in pattern, and preserved. The most intact site.

Its urban planning inherited the concepts of "respecting the center" and "king in the south" in the traditional Chinese ritual culture, while the free layout of buildings on both sides of the central axis reflects the characteristics of nomads.

This inclusive city model has a unique position in the history of world civilization and urban planning and design.

After being abandoned in the early Ming Dynasty, the site has been preserved intact to this day.

[Explanation] Now, the Yuanshangdu site has been successfully applied for 9 years. Under the careful protection of the local cultural relics bureau and multiple units, it has also become an important part of the National Wetland Park-Shangduhe Wetland Park, Zhenglan Banner, Inner Mongolia .

When the reporter visited, he saw that the surrounding area of the site was rich in vegetation and wild animals shuttled through it.

This picture of natural and cultural sites is inextricably linked with the work of the site protectors.

For the Yuanshangdu site, during 11 years of work, I put all my efforts here.

The protection and management of the Yuanshangdu site is getting better and more mature every year.

The bricks and tiles of the Yuanshangdu site have their own special feelings.

[Explanation] At the Yuanshangdu site, the security and monitoring system is becoming more and more perfect. The staff's mobile phones are equipped with corresponding software, and the monitoring of the site can be checked at any time.

In addition, the herdsmen are also one of the protectors of the site.

Since 2012, more than 200 herdsmen have moved out of the site protection area one after another, and spontaneously formed a horseback cultural relics protection team to patrol the 30,000 acres of grassland in the outer protection area of the Yuanshangdu Site.

Many herdsmen have also become staff members of the Yuanshangdu Cultural Heritage Protection and Research Center, participating in the daily maintenance of the core area of the site.

The protection of the Yuanshangdu site was very hard.

It rains a lot in summer, winds in autumn, and snow in winter.

I have been working on the protection of cultural relics for 5 years. As a cultural relics protector, I am particularly proud.

I am particularly proud to work as a protector of the Yuanshangdu Site, the only world cultural heritage in our Inner Mongolia area.

[Explanation] In the Xilin Gol Cultural Heritage Museum, there are a large number of precious cultural relics unearthed from the Yuanshangdu site.

Li Ximin has been working here for 5 years. She has lived in Shangdu Town not far from the site since she was a child. She told reporters that more than 700 years have passed and the culture carried by the Prairie Capital City is still passed on.

Today it is the "City of Chaganyid Culture in China" and "China Mongolian Standard Sound Demonstration Base".

The rich history and culture and the livable natural environment give people more expectations for this site and this grassland.

On the one hand, it is hoped that the protection of the Yuanshangdu site can be further developed and improved, and at the same time, the relationship between cultural heritage protection and economic development will be better handled, and the economic life of the local people will be better promoted. All the friends who come here can feel the multicultural charm contained in the Yuanshangdu site.
