Scandal topples a broadcaster on the largest private channels in Germany (video)

A German broadcaster was exposed to a scandal, while covering the devastation caused by floods in Germany, after a video clip of her smearing herself with mud before appearing live, to appear that she was also damaged, or at least helped those who were affected.

Presenter Susanna Ohlin, 39, was about to appear on air from one of the affected areas, as part of her coverage of RTL, one of the largest private channels in Germany.

According to "Sky News".

Before the live broadcast, the announcer quickly descended to the ground and grabbed the mud to stain her clothes and face, which was documented by a video clip taken by an unknown person.

When the video spread, the presenter of the "Good Morning Germany" program apologized to her followers, and said: "As a journalist, this should never have happened.

As someone who takes the suffering of all those affected seriously, it has happened to me.

I'm sorry".

In a post on her Instagram page, she added: “Having been particularly helpful in the area during the previous days, I felt ashamed to stand in front of the camera in clean clothes in front of other aid workers.

As a result, without thinking twice, I smeared my clothes with mud.”

RTL announced Ohlin's suspension, saying in the words of its spokesperson: "Our reporter's actions are clearly inconsistent with journalistic principles and our own standards.

So we suspended her work with her after we found out what happened.”
