Isabel Cardoso-Fonquerle is a winegrower.

From the vines to the bottling, including the blending of grape varieties, she produces everything on her own and organic wines.

This portrait is the first in a series on African diasporas in France.

Publicity

Carignan, Cinsault, black and gray grenaches ... When she left Guinea-Bissau at the age of 17, Isabel knew nothing about the culture of the vine.

It is thanks to a seasonal job that she will discover her vocation and her passion for the very masculine wine world.

Today, this mother of three children manages the 8 hectares of Domaine de l'Oustal Blanc on her own.

She produces solar and refined wines in her image, which are also the reflection of a renowned terroir: Minervois.

Meeting with a woman with a strong personality.
