They had marked the spirits this Thursday by being the

victims of the recital of the Netherlands (10-3)

during the first day of the group stage of the women's football tournament.

This time, the Zambians have shown themselves positively by obtaining the first point in their history at the Olympic Games thanks to their draw against China (4-4).

Barbra Banda on a cloud

The Copper Queens, who are participating for the first time in the Olympics, were nevertheless led 3-1 in the 23rd minute after the hat-trick from the Chinese Shuang Wang.

But, as against the Netherlands, striker Barbra Banda shone by scoring once again three goals (42nd, 46th, 69th).

At the end of the match, China logically managed to equalize thanks to Shuang Wang on penalty (4-4, 83rd), thus depriving Zambia of a first victory.

But, despite the disappointment, the Zambians can savor this historic point that allows them to believe in qualifying for the quarter-finals.

They will have to beat Brazil, fourth at the 2016 Olympics, to secure a place at least among the best third.
